Where we fit

An assembly fixture is not a weld fixture or a machining fixture

The three get lumped together and they solve different problems. Machining workholding fights cutting forces and chips. Weld fixtures fight heat and distortion. An assembly fixture fights operator variation — sequence, reach, fatigue and the parts that will eventually be loaded backwards unless the tool prevents it.

Locating nests and part cradles

Contact geometry that seats the real part one way, machined or 3D printed to protect finished surfaces.

Poka-yoke and part-present sensing

Features and sensing that make the wrong component, wrong orientation or missing part impossible to pass on.

How is an assembly fixture different from a weld fixture?

A weld fixture is designed around heat, distortion and gun access. An assembly fixture is designed around the operator: load sequence, reach, torque access, cycle time and preventing build errors. Dynamics Group builds both, and scopes them differently.

Can you design in error-proofing?

Yes. Poka-yoke features and part-present sensing are design inputs from the start — the cheapest place to prevent a wrong build is the fixture, not the end-of-line check.

Do you try the fixture out before it ships?

Yes. Real parts are loaded and the sequence run in our Madison Heights shop so issues surface here rather than on your line.

Can you support a fixture after launch?

Yes. Wear details, spares and design changes are handled by the same team that designed and built the tool.
