Every transfer from lathe to mill risks concentricity, adds fixturing and queue time, and puts two operations between you and a finished part. Live tooling collapses that into one program on one machine.

What is your maximum turning capacity?

Published capacity is Ø14.96 x 24 inches on the Lynx 2600M. Usable size depends on the geometry, workholding and feature layout.

What does live tooling change for my part?

Milled features — flats, cross-holes, keyways, bolt circles — are cut on the lathe in the same clamping as the turning, protecting concentricity and removing a mill setup.

When does the Y-axis matter?

Whenever a milled feature is off the part centerline. Without Y-axis, those features need a separate milling operation; with it they finish in one setup.

Can you handle turned parts that also need heavy milling?

Yes. Work beyond the lathes' live-tooling envelope moves to the six VMCs in the same building, under the same quality system.
