Prototype & Low-Volume CNC Machining
Quick-turn machined prototypes with first-article inspection reports — from drawing to metal in days, not weeks.
Overview
A prototype only earns its keep if it arrives while the design conversation is still open. Dynamics Group machines one-offs and low-volume runs on a quick-turn basis: quotes back within 24 hours, DFM feedback with the quote, and finished metal in days. Because design engineers and machinists work side by side here, you get more than a part — you get notes on tolerancing, material selection and features that will drive cost when the design moves to production.
Prototypes run on the same equipment as our production work: 5-axis machining on the Okuma Genos M560V-5AX and Hurco VM10UHSi for complex geometry in one setup, VMCs up to 51 x 22 x 20 in for larger parts, and turn-mill lathes for round work with milled features. We cut aluminum, steels, stainless, titanium, plastics and composites, holding tolerances to +/-0.0002 in — and every prototype ships with a first-article inspection report backed by our Mitutoyo AE112 CMM, so your validation data starts on day one.
Many customers start on our 3D printing platforms to iterate a concept in polymer, then bridge to machined metal here when the design firms up — same team, same building, no requoting friction. Prototype machining is part of our full CNC machining offering. Upload drawings to request a quote — we respond within 24 hours.
Days, Not Weeks
Quick-turn scheduling puts one-offs and short runs on machines fast, so your test plan never waits on parts.
DFM Feedback Included
Every quote comes with manufacturability notes — catch cost drivers now, before they are locked into the production print.
Inspection Data From Part One
First-article inspection reports from our CMM lab give your validation file real dimensional data, not assumptions.

What To Expect
Our group of design experts specializes in rapidly bringing your products to market. Dynamics Group has access to the leading edge of software and hardware, and we can accelerate project timelines and provide build to print support or work with you to develop a design that fits your manufacturing specifications.
24-Hour Quotes
Send drawings and get pricing back within 24 hours, with manufacturability notes attached — not a black-box number.
Print-to-Part Speed
Quick-turn scheduling and 5-axis single-setup machining turn complex one-offs around in days.
3D Print to Metal Bridge
Iterate the concept on our 3D printing platforms, then move to machined metal with the same team — no supplier handoff.
First-Article Reports
Every prototype can ship with a documented first-article inspection from our Mitutoyo AE112 and Keyence XM-5000 CMMs.
Production-Grade Tolerances
Prototypes are cut to the same standards as production work — to +/-0.0002 in — so test results translate directly.
A Path to Volume
When the design freezes, the same shop scales you into low-volume and production runs without requalification.
